At OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment where all guests can learn, explore, and play.
Accessibility Amenities
Sensory Backpacks
Sensory backpacks are available to check out at the Front Desk during your visit. Backpacks include tools designed to help guests feel more comfortable while exploring the museum. A valid ID is required during checkout and will be returned once the backpack is returned.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome throughout the museum in accordance with ADA guidelines.
Strollers & Wheelchairs
Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome throughout the museum. Our exhibit spaces are designed to accommodate a variety of mobility needs.
Elevator Access
OH WOW! has two elevators available for guest use:
- An elevator located behind the Guitar exhibit on the Main Floor provides access between the Main Floor and Lower Level.
- An elevator located in the vestibule near the Main Entrance provides access between the Main Floor and Second Level.
Restrooms
Family restrooms are available on the Lower Level near the Rock Wall exhibit. Two gender-neutral restrooms with changing tables are located on the Main Floor.
Seating & Rest Areas
Benches and chairs are available throughout the museum for guests who may need a break during their visit. Additional seating can be provided by staff upon request.
Sensory-Friendly Considerations
OH WOW! is a hands-on science center and some exhibits may include flashing lights, sounds, movement, or other sensory elements.
Our Music & Light exhibit area on the Main Floor includes interactive experiences such as the Laser Guitar, Rhythm Drums, and Echo Tube, which can become loud during play.
For guests needing a quieter space, a sensory-sensitive room is available on the Main Floor and may be accessed by any guest during their visit.
Universal Design
OH WOW! incorporates principles of universal design throughout the museum to help create experiences that are accessible and engaging for guests of all ages, abilities, and learning styles.
Parking Information
OH WOW! is not directly connected to a parking lot; however, several nearby parking options are available:
- Metered street parking throughout downtown Youngstown
- Paid parking lot at Boardman Street & Phelps Street ($7.00 as of May 2026)
- Free parking lot located at Commerce Street & Phelps Street (free as of May 2026)
