Grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles, and other special “grand people” can enjoy FREE admission while exploring OH WOW! with the young explorers in their lives. It’s our way of celebrating the important role grand people play in learning, curiosity, and connection across generations.
Youngstown, OH – OH WOW! is pleased to announce that older adults accompanying children to the Center will receive free admission every Wednesday this year.
Free grand person day is not new to OH WOW!, but the frequency of the offer is for 2026. The Center previously offered this perk just one day per month, but with the support of the Cohen & Co Foundation, free grand person day will be offered weekly.
“We continue to seek partnerships that enable us to increase our visitor count and provide access to as many people as possible,” said Katie Seminara-DeToro, executive director. “We know many grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, and other older adults play a vital role in caregiving for children. We hope free admission incentivizes them to come downtown Youngstown and explore with their littles.”
The first day for free grand person admission is this Wednesday, February 4. OH WOW! is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and free admission will be granted to every older adult attending with children on Wednesdays in 2026.
OH WOW! provides several reduced or free opportunities for museum access. In partnership with various libraries in the region, many library card holders can check out passes to OH WOW! for free admission, up to four people. Additionally, OH WOW! is a member of Museums for All, offering $2 admission to groups with SNAP cards, up to four people per card.
Youngstown is one of only eight Museums for All Hub Cities in the state. Museums for All is a national program encouraging quality museum learning experiences to people of all backgrounds.
