Launch the Next Generation of STEM Stars
Visitors enter OH WOW!® The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology at our Visitor Orientation Center, generously sponsored by Kimberly and Jeff Simon in honor of their children Zachary and Zoe Simon. You will be greeted by our WOW! Pals and the “Infinite Possibilities Penguin,” designed by Robert W. Walker and sponsored by Tony, Mary, Natalie and Dana Lariccia.

OH WOW!® embraces universal design principles in our 17,820 square foot facility, ensuring we’re accessible to the greatest number of people possible without regard to ability or disability on our exhibit floors and in our administrative offices. (1st Floor = 8,560 SF, Lower Level = 9,260 SF w/ 6,420 SF for Exhibit Hall & Support Area, and 2,000 SF for Storage & Workshop.)
There are now thirteen galleries, or WOW! 1. In the House of Shine exhibit, you’ll discover new things about yourself, revealing intriguing possibilities for the future.
2. The Sensory Sensitive Room is a place for visitors to explore their senses and learn about the world
around them, in a safe, quiet and comfortable place.
3. Our new MicroElectronics Lab is a collaboration with Youngstown State University that will provide
our visitors with an introduction to the skills and knowledge needed in microelectronics and
computer engineering fields
Phase 4 Renovation Planned
Our Phase 4 Renovation, scheduled to begin soon, will improve energy efficiency and protect the integrity and longevity of our building – a critical asset to OH WOW!® and our downtown area.
Additional education and exhibit space will offer our guests more equitable accessibility and other opportunities for guests of all ages to deepen their educational experiences.
We will add usable classroom and community event spaces that offer unique, hands-on learning opportunities, and enhancements are planned for our main exhibit floor and makers’ labs.
All these efforts are intentional – adding to the vibrancy of the downtown area and further contributing to the economic health of our community while growing our most important resource – our children!
