OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology will celebrate Earth Day this Saturday, April 22, 2017.
The “Earth Day Extravaganza” is supported by an award from the National Informal STEM Education Network (NISE). Guests are invited to take part in nine special hands-on activities about our Earth, Solar System and Space.
The event will run from 12pm-4pm in the InspireWorks! WOW! Zone on the bottom floor of OH WOW! Participation is free to OH WOW! members and at no extra cost to those who’ve paid general admission for the day.
Join OH WOW! in partnership with Youngstown CityScape for an entertaining evening to help fund a rooftop garden in the heart of downtown Youngstown!
Come play with the cool exhibits, partake in adult libations, consume tasty snacks and create rustic, wooden signs you’ll paint and make all your own. It’s a groovy twist on the trendy “paint & sip” craze.
All proceeds will help support an Eagle Scout’s unique rooftop garden project on the historic McCrory Building.
The fundraiser is at OH WOW! on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Tickets are $45 and are limited, so act fast! Visit https://brazenbrush.com/events/04-26-ohwow/ to purchase tickets now!

We are working on an update of one of our favorite exhibits, the Windy Pipes. Our friends at RedBox Workshop are going to install a New Amazing Airways experience the last week of March. In preparation of this WOWtastic update, we will begin deconstruction of our current exhibit the week of March 20th. Our goal is to have the new Amazing Airways and Drive to Dance exhibits installed before our busy field trip season. Keep an eye on social media for updates on these two exciting projects.
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159…
We are inviting you to help the WOW! Pals celebrate this never-ending number. OH WOW! is asking local restaurants to add a special Pi Day Pie to the menu in celebration of Pi Day, which happens to be Einstein’s birthday as well. These Pi Day Pie can be a fruit pie, a cream pie or even a pizza pie. OH WOW! is asking everyone to share this WOWtastic holiday with their patrons for the month of March. Please share pictures of pies with us on social media, using #OHWOWpiday.
