Field Trip FAQs

How far in advance do I have to book my field trip?
The earlier you make your reservation, the better chance you have of visiting OH WOW!® on the date you request. Call 330-744-5914 or email to schedule your field trip today.

What do I need in order to make a reservation?
You should have at least two possible dates selected for your visit, the number of children and chaperones (we require at least 1 chaperone for every 5 children), contact information and a $50 non-refundable deposit.  We’ll also need to know if you’d like to reserve Function Junction to eat lunch.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept checks made out to OH WOW!®, cash, purchase orders numbers or credit cards.

What if I need to change or cancel a reservation?
Call OH WOW!® at 330-744-5914 or email as soon as possible to cancel or change a reservation. Reservations are secured with a $50 non-refundable deposit. Based upon availability, you may reschedule your field trip during the same school year without penalty.

How long should we plan to stay?
Field trips can be scheduled during one of our open 2 hour time blocks.  The first block of the day is 9:00 am.

How many students can I bring at one time?
OH WOW!® has a maximum field trip capacity of 125 students plus 1 required chaperone per every 5 students. This allows students to get the most out of their exploration in the exhibit hall.

What do we do when we arrive?
Your bus will be greeted by a WOW! Pal who will guide your students to the field trip entrance. They will give a brief orientation to your students, teachers and chaperones. The lead teacher will be asked to check in at the front desk with a final count of children and adults, and take care of the balance for your group.

My check is made out for more than the number of children who showed up. Do I get a refund?
Whenever possible it’s always best to not have the check amount filled out until check in on the field trip. OH WOW!® does not issue refunds for the overpayment.

Where and when will we eat lunch?
Lunch space is limited, be sure to request use of the Function Junction when you make your reservation. Function Junction cannot be scheduled for every field trip; it is booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. To accommodate larger groups we may ask that your group eat in shifts. We will provide carts which can be loaded at the bus with lunches and stored in Function Junction for your group to have available when ready.

What if we don’t want to bring lunch, do you have a food vendor?
OH WOW!® does not have an on-site food vendor, but you can order lunch to be delivered. If you are in need of a list of local vendors, ask a WOW! Pal when you make your reservation.

Where do we load and unload children at the Museum?
For safety reasons, buses are asked to load and unload on the south side of Market Street next to First National Bank.

Where do we park our buses during the field trip and how much does it cost?
Our field trip bus parking is located at the Covelli Centre free of charge.

What do the teachers and chaperones need to do during the field trip?
The students must be with teachers and chaperones at all times. To ensure the most EDUtaining experience, chaperones should be actively engaged with the students at the exhibits. Our chaperone guide is available to help adults with the very important job of being a chaperone.
